hey kids! i’m so sorry i didn’t get to my normal wednesday evening american idol post - since i was at the kate nash concert last night there just wasn’t enough time - anyways as expected syesha mercado (the last lady standing) was given the boot last night (who really started to grow on me over the past few weeks) leaving us with our final two idol contenders - david cook & david archuleta (pictured below standing together) i swear this has been one of the worst seasons of idol - i do like mr. cook a lot but there have been past seasons that i was way more into - i’m totally ready for all the idol hoopla to come to an end! the good folks over at AOL television asked me to make a prediction as to who would most likely win this season along with a few other bloggers which you can check out here - i will be voting like mad for rocker david cook to win although i have a sinking feeling little ‘awww shucks’ boy david archuleta will walk off with this year’s title next week i’ll be in boston on business for a few days so i’ll be getting my vote on from the east coast - i’m excited to get out of town although i always get stressed over dealing w/ popbytes while on the road - posting will of course carry on - maybe just a little lighter than normal! popbytes over & out for now…xxoo

oh no! more bad news for my favorite mess amy winehouse who was supposedly working on the new james bond theme song for the next installment of the franchise quantum of solace (with sexy daniel craig taking his second stab at playing the always debonair mr. bond) but cutie music producer whiz mark ronson (yes brother to lindsay lohan’s BFF samantha ronson) has come out saying that amy isn’t quite ready to make new music - which we call all tell just by looking at her (we did work on it but we never finished it. i don’t think it will happen unless by some miracle it gets recorded and someone sings on it. i’m not sure amy is ready to work on music yet) the whole situation is just unfortunate - her talent (and health) are wasting away - and she really is a perfect candidate to take on a bond theme song but sadly girlfriend really needs to get her shit together first!

let’s hope she didn’t burn her bridge completely yet with mr. ronson (pictured below leaving a birthday bash for lily allen who just turned 23) who had a big part in putting together her award winning multi-platinum album back to black - she totally needs mark! no one seems to be getting through to her - who knows what will transpire with amy over the next few weeks…my fingers are crossed hoping she’s already hit rock bottom and can only pull herself up from here on out…i know that’s awfully wishful thinking on my part but i’m trying to stay positive - we can count her out just yet! popbytes over & out for now…xxoo

Compelling stories are explored every day on “This American Life,” the nearly 15-year-old, award-winning Chicago Public Radio show that boasts a devoted weekly listening audience of 1.7 million, and is heard on more than 500 stations nationally. The series, created in 1995 by host and executive producer Ira Glass, pioneered a unique way of telling stories on the radio. Its first-person telling of these revealing stories makes the radio series a great fit for television.

In the same spirit of the radio show, the televised version of THIS AMERICAN LIFE, premiering Thursday, March 22nd at 10:30 p.m. PT/ET, takes 30-minute looks at stories culled from all over the country. Glass and a small team of radio producers and filmmakers spent six months on the road: traveling to Iowa pig farms, following a first-time filmmaker in California, photographing a raucous night at an Illinois hot dog stand. The result is true stories that are dramatic, emotional, and often funny.

Apparently Pink and Bai Ling are good friends - they went kayaking together in Malibu a few days ago. Besides getting a great workout (kayaking apparently burns around 365 calories per hour), the two of them also had a great time!

oh my gosh! kelly osbourne must have been partying it up hardcore earlier tonight at mahiki nightclub (in london) where she had to be escorted out after not being able to stand up straight (that’s usually a tell-tale sign to call it a night) upon arriving home via a cab (smart move) she almost fell out of the taxi - stumbled across the street - then walked right into a wall! once she found the actual front door to her place kelly fumbled with the numeric buzzer lock and finally made her way inside - how embarrassing to have that all captured by the paparazzi (thankfully she wasn’t with her pal amy winehouse who would have upped the mess factor tenfold) hopefully she was just getting her drink on - we all know she has battled drug addiction in the past and has been claiming sobriety for a while now - she is going to totally wake up in the morning with a fuzzy memory of what happened (along with one hell of a hangover headache) all of a sudden kelly will realize she walked into a wall (possibly prompted by all of the photographic evidence - shots to be added to the osbourne family scrapbook - gosh i miss their reality show) i bet ms. osbourne will be laying low for a bit after this messy evening! popbytes over & out for tonight…xxoo
